Fifty 7 Land & Property
After leaving Bournemouth University, Alyn went into residential property sales in Southampton, before joining Christie and Co, the national business transfer agents.
There followed spells working in acquisitions for T & S Stores, One Stop, Southern Co-operative and AWA Telecoms, before joining Ellis and Partners Commercial Agency on Bournemouth, whereupon he was promoted to Acquisitions Director in 2011.
After briefly working for Appleby Westward (Spar) in an acquisitions role, and with thirty years of acquisition experience, he and Lynda decided to start their own business and have been successful in acquiring convenience stores, petrol forecourts and vacant premises for most of Alyn’s previous retail employers, plus land for their client Falcon Retail Ltd to develop New-to-Industry fuel stations.
The emphasis is on finding suitable greenfield or brownfield land for new roadside sites for food and coffee outlets and potential mixed – use development sites to include fuel and electric charging, sites for new care homes, premises that can be re-purposed for use as convenience stores or other food and coffee outlets, or good trading convenience stores, often where the current owners are considering retirement.
By employing a pro-active approach, most of the land, premises and businesses acquired on behalf of clients over the years have been off-market. Many owners value the fact that their business, land or premises are sold whilst staff, suppliers and customers remain unaware that a sale is taking place, whilst still receiving a competitive price.
In addition, Fifty 7 Land & Property don’t charge the owner a selling fee. That is covered by the buyer following completion of the purchase.
Whilst Alyn is out on the road finding new opportunities for both their corporate and independent clients, Lynda’s role is mainly administrative – she keeps the business ticking over whilst he drives around the country!
Alyn and Lynda live in the New Forest with their dog Rosie, the sixth in a long line of Irish Setters that they have owned, and enjoy walking, cycling, jogging, badminton, rugby (watching rather than playing it these days), and visiting Cornwall.
